Revenue: We will pursue non-responders to Property Tax letters

The Revenue Commissioners have said people who ignore the Property Tax letters and emails will be pursued.

From Monday, 1.6 million households will begin receiving the estimates of what charge they owe on their property.

Homeowners who do not receive a letter or email over the next four weeks must contact Revenue.

An online interactive guide to assist in the process will be available on the revenue.ie website from next Sunday.

The Chairperson of the Revenue Commissioners Josephine Feehily is issuing a warning to all households today.

Ms Feehily said: "Don't ignore the envelope from Revenue. The compliance measures will begin to kick in for non-responders, so responding is important.

"If you don’t respond, we will pursue the Revenue estimate which we will have sent you."
