Police are investigating the discovery of a small viable device at a house in Armagh overnight.

Police are investigating the discovery of a small viable device at a house in Armagh overnight.

A number of residents were evacuated from their homes in the Alexander Avenue area of the city at around 4am following the discovery.

The local community centre was opened to accommodate residents.

The device was removed from the scene for further examination and all residents have been allowed back to their home.
