Reports highlights dangers of buying drugs over internet
09/01/2006 - 08:19:03Legal and medical experts are calling for urgent research to investigate the extent to which Irish people are buying prescription drugs over the internet.
In a study commissioned by the Irish Patients Association, the experts warn that people are putting their health at risk by buying such drugs, which are frequently counterfeit and ineffective.
Drugs like Viagra and Valium, as well as steroids and medicines to control cholesterol, make up the bulk of the internet medicines trade in the developed world.
