Report into alleged ticket touting scandal at Rio Olympics to be published today
A report into the alleged ticketing scandal at the Rio Olympics which led to the arrest of OCI President Pat Hickey will be published later today.
The review by Judge Carroll Moran will examine allegations of ticket touting against THG and the company's owner Marcus Evans, whose relationship with Mr Hickey has come under close scrutiny.
It is expected there will not be findings of criminal activity against the former Olympic Council of Ireland President.
Mr Hickey was arrested last August as part of an investigation into alleged ticket touting. He denies the allegations.
In an interview in June with Newstalk, Pat Hickey declared his innocence and said the ordeal has had major implications on his health and family.
"I'd like to just emphasise that I am totally innocent of all these charges, and I will be proven innocent, and my legal team in Brazil are working flat out," he said.
"This has left a devastating effect on my family - on my wife, on my children... devastating. It's affected my own health. As a result of all this stress, I now have a heart problem, and I have had two medical procedures."
Judge Caroll Moran is also likely to criticise the lack of co-operation from key players in the scandal, but Minister Shane Ross has said he does not think that undermines the report and he does not regret the way he set up the investigation.
There will be a special sitting of the Oirechatas sports committee on Friday to discuss the findings, but it is expected Pat Hickey will turn down an offer to appear before TDs and Senators.
He didn't co-operate with the inquiry either, on the basis it may prejudice criminal proceedings in Brazil.
