Foreign nationals in Ireland are being singled out for discrimination, according to a new report by the Migrant Rights Centre.

Foreign nationals in Ireland are being singled out for discrimination, according to a new report by the Migrant Rights Centre.

The organisation said that gardaí and immigration officials are requesting ID most often from foreign nationals who are black, or who are obviously from ethnic minority groups.

Irish citizens are not required to carry ID, but foreign nationals have to present ID on demand and the MRCI claims that leads to a practice of racial profiling.
