Report: Bishop of Limerick resigns

According to reports tonight the Bishop of Limerick Donal Murray has resigned.

According to reports tonight the Bishop of Limerick Donal Murray has resigned.

The Vatican is due to make the formal announcement at 11am tommorow morning.

Dr Murray was criticised over his handling of sex abuse allegations while he was working in the Dublin Archdiocese.

He was one of a number of bishops that were singled out by the Murphy Commission report into the handling of clerical abuse cases in Dublin.
