Relatives of the late Brian Lenihan have reportedly written to the banking inquiry demanding the right to reply to allegations made about his performance as former Finance Minister.
The Sunday Business Post has reported that a legal letter was sent on behalf of former government ministers Mary O'Rourke and Conor Lenihan, the aunt and brother of the late Mr Lenihan.
It is claimed they have asked to respond to any allegations made to the inquiry about Brian Lenihan, as well as to be given the right to give their own evidence and cross-examine witnesses.
The relatives have complained about recent coverage which they described as “enormously distressing”, “damaging” and “unwarranted”.
