The Health Minister James Reilly is promising the family of Savita Halappanavar and the Irish people that the full facts of her death will be established.
Dr Reilly also said the Coalition is united in the view that the Government owes the citizens of Ireland and our medical professionals "absolute clarity" about the law and what is permissible.
His comments come as the Indian Ambassador to Ireland, Debashish Chakravarti, heads to Iveagh House to discuss Savita's death with the the Tánaiste and Foreign Affairs Minister Eamon Gilmore.
Minister Reilly said if there are lessons from Savita's death then they will be learned.
He said: "What I want for the family is, as quickly as possible, that they have certainty about the facts of what happened here.
"And I want for the Irish people to be assured that they have the full facts also and that whatever happened, had there been any ability to prevent it, will not happen again."
