Reilly 'does not have business connection' with primary care centres

A spokesman for Health Minster James Reilly has issued a statement on the additional primary care centres in his constituency this lunchtime.

It says that the Minister's "experience on the ground" led him to add the two centres in Swords and Balbriggan to the list already finalised by the HSE.

His spokesman also says that Minister Reilly does not have any business connection with anyone who may run the centres proposed for his constituency.

Meanwhile, Fianna Fáil says it is time for the Taoiseach to intervene in the row between Ministers Reilly and Shortall.

The party's Michael McGrath's also suggesting one of them should go: “At a time when cutbacks are happening throughout the health service, for people to see two ministers at loggerheads in such a public fashion is very disturbing. They need to sort it out.

“It looks like one of them has to go and the Taoiseach needs to get on top of this right away because it will spiral out of control.”
