The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre is advising people that their service is open over the Christmas period.

There were over 2,113 calls to their 24-hour Helpline for rape and sexual abuse during December 2012 and January 2013 alone.

Ellen O’Malley-Dunlop, the CEO of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, has urged people to take precautions if travelling by themselves during the festive season.
