Raiders target Ulster Bank branch in Edgeworthstown

Two armed and masked men have escaped with an substantial sum of money following a raid on a bank in Co Longford today.

The pair, who were carrying shotguns, targeted the Ulster Bank branch in Edgeworthstown at around 11.30pm.

They escaped with an undisclosed sum of money in a van that was later found abandoned on the Ballymahon Road.

No shots were fired during the robbery and nobody was injured.
