Rabbitte: Troika isn't just interested in austerity measures

The Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte has said that the Troika isn't just interested in austerity measures.
He says the members of the IMF, ECB and EC are more than open to stimulus measures that help the economy to grow.
The Government launched its National Broadband Plan today which will greatly increase broadband speeds at a cost of €350 million.
Minister Rabbitte believes this is a prime example of how the Troika supports such measures:
"Making our economy more competitive is something that the Troika supports, they have lots of views on things that have been done traditionally wastefully or making cuts here or there and squeezing and pressurising us", he said
"But they are not trying to row back on measures that are designed to bring the economy fit for purpose"
