Rabbitte: Nothing agreed yet on Budget
A Cabinet meeting has ended without concrete agreement on how much each Department will have to cut in next week's Budget.
Ministers had hoped to reach a deal today on how much they would have to take from their departments next year.
However it is understood that concerns over the Department of Health and its spending for 2013 mean no deal could be reached.
Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte says some progress was made today, but there's plenty still to be agreed.
"Well, in terms of the old cliché - nothing is agreed until everything is agreed," he said.
"That applies to the Budget as well.
"Yes, we made more progress this morning, but no, nothing is agreed until everything is agreed and we haven't reached that stage yet."
