Quinn warns ASTI members of 'severe consequences'
ASTI members have been warned that there will be "severe consequences" for teachers who remain outside of the Haddington Road Agreement.
The union is withdrawing from some duties next week after rejecting the package.
The Education Minister Ruairi Quinn has told the Dáil that it means teachers in the union will lose a number of protections afforded to them under the new agreement as the Government applies the financial emergency legislation.
Under the regulations, teachers will not be protected from compulsory redundancy and may face an impact to salaries and pensions.
