Quinn solicitors to withdraw from representing family03/09/2012 - 07:02:15
Solicitors for Sean Quinn and his family are due to apply to the High Court today to withdraw from representing them in two legal actions involving the former Anglo Irish Bank.
Their lawyers Eversheds indicated on Friday that they would make the move.
Barrister Brian O'Moore informed the court on Friday that Eversheds solicitors will apply to officially come off record for the Quinns today.
He said the Quinn family accepts for a variety of reasons that Eversheds cannot continue to act for them except in Sean Quinn Jnr's upcoming appeal against his imprisonment for contempt of court.
In a statement, the Quinns said they are "annoyed and frustrated" to confirm that due to their financial position, they have been forced to let go of their legal team.
They lay the blame on this for IBRC but said they would continue to contest their legal battle with the bank over loans to Quinn companies.
A statement from the bank notes that the court has made express provision for the Quinn's to discharge reasonable legal expenses.
