Queensland Rose celebrates victory

Queensland Rose Tara Talbot was declared the 2011 Rose of Tralee last night.

Queensland Rose Tara Talbot was declared the 2011 Rose of Tralee last night.

Talbot, a secondary school teacher, was the bookies favourite in the lead up to the final in the Dome.

The 27-year-old was born in Dublin and moved to Australia when she was five.

Her father is from Dublin and her mother is from the Philippines.

She was presented with the Newbridge Tiara from outgoing Rose Clare Kambamettu, a trip around the world valued at €25,000 and a Renault car for the year.
