Pupil-teacher ratios 'may rise' in bid to cut public spending
The Education Minister Ruairí Quinn has said he cannot rule out increases to the pupil-teacher ratio in the Budget.
Mr Quinn has told the Dáil that his Department has to do its bit to bring public spending under control.
It has been reported that pupil-teacher ratios in some primary school classes may be increased to cut the number of teachers needed.
