Yesterday's torrential rain has not affected Ireland's oldest horse fair which opened in Co Kerry today.

Around 100,000 people from all over the world are expected to attend the three-day Puck Fair in Killorglin.

Thousands will line the streets this evening for the coronation parade when a wild goat caught in the Macgillicuddy's Reeks will take to his throne for the rest of the fair.

Tomorrow a cattle fair will take place, while other highlights include open air concerts and street entertainment.

The festival is worth around €6m to the local economy.
