Eight people have been arrested following disturbances in Belfast overnight.

Several officers have been injured in clashes in the north of the city over the last two nights.

Police in the North are asking community representatives in Belfast to work together to avoid a third evening of violence.

Fifteen officers were injured last night, and 47 were hurt during disturbances on Sunday.

The trouble broke out between loyalists and republicans in the north of the city.

Seven were arrested in relation to last night's violence, while a 17-year-old was detained yesterday in relation to the disturbances on Sunday.
