Milk producers claim they can't afford to make a living under the current pricing structure used by dairies.

A number of protests will get underway at noon outside the five main dairies in Cork, Galway, Sligo, Louth and Kildare to highlight the issue.

Farmers claim the cost of supplying fresh, quality milk to supermarkets has become too high.

IFA National Liquid Milk Chairman Teddy Cashman claimed livelihoods are at stake under the current arrangement.
