Protesters to drive hearse to Dáil

Campaigners from Co Monaghan will drive a hearse to the Dáil later today in protest over the reduction in services at Monaghan General Hospital.

Today is the final weekend day for elective surgery at the hospital and the protesters are saying it is a black day for the county.

Peadar McMahon of the Monaghan Community Alliance says the transferral of duties to Cavan hospital amounts to a death warrant for their hospital.
