A proposal to turn the Poolbeg chimneys in Dublin bay into twin observation towers could net a turnover of €20m a year it has been reported.

The Sunday Times reports that design company Urban Agency has submitted designs for the towers to Labour councillor Dermot Lacey.

They suggest observation decks could be constructed on each of the iconic chimneys, offering breathtaking views and boosting tourism.
