The Property Tax database will reportedly be used to source people who do not pay the new broadcasting charge.

The levy is to replace the €160 euro TV license fee.

It is being brought in because more and more people are watching TV on their computers or tablets.

The broadcasting charge is not expected to come into force until late 2014.
