Printers at Independent Newspapers vote for strike action
29/08/2006 - 13:13:54Printing staff at Independent Newspapers have voted to engage in industrial action as part of a dispute over pensions.
Management at the company want to close off the existing defined benefit scheme to new entrants and want employees to increase their contribution to 6.62%.
The Dublin Printing Group of Unions wants to see the scheme retained in its present form, but says it is willing to negotiate increasing its members' contributions.
