A gathering will take place today to look at how the Irish Government and society can play its role in achieving sustainable development goals.
The summit will be attended by International and domestic NGOs, government representatives and environmental groups.
This follows a major global agreement by world leaders who signed up to these goals last year, through negotiations which were co-chaired by Ireland.
President Michael D Higgins will address the conference at Croke Park Conference Centre.
CEO of Dochas, Suzanne Keating, said that Ireland needs to keep moving forward with the objectives.
"I suppose what we'd be saying is, we've played a really important leadership role, we need to keep going," she said.
"We need to keep the momentum going.
"We're basically looking for a whole-of-government approach to say 'Please endorse these, and let's work together on them'."
