Poor weather forces Aer Lingus to cancel flights

Snowy conditions in London and Paris have caused Aer Lingus to cancel six round-trip flights today - but the airline says it will accommodate all affected passengers on other flights.

The cancelled flights are on routes between Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Belfast and Heathrow; and one between Dublin and Charles de Gaulle in Paris.

Declan Kearney, Director of Communications at Aer Lingus, is advising passengers to check the website before they leave home.

"We have six flights in total (cancelled) - so that's five flights in and out of London Heathrow, two from Dublin, one from Shannon, one from Cork and one from Belfast - and we have one flight between Dublin and Paris.

"It's a very fluid situation obviously with difficult weather conditions all over Europe.

"Customers would be advised to check the website.

"The best way to get the exact information on your own flight is to go to our 'flight information' link and put in your flight number, and you'll get the exact, up-to-date status of the flight."
