Almost two thirds of people have said they know someone who has driven over the legal alcohol limit.

A Red C poll for Newstalk shows almost a quarter of Irish men think they have driven over the limit.

In a survey that interviewed 1,015 people it was found one in four said they had probably been a passenger in a car driven by someone over the limit.

77% of people think that drink driving is a bigger problem in rural areas.

Cavan is the county in which people are most likely to drink drive.
