Pharmacists are calling on the Minister for Health James Reilly to act on his proposal to enable pharmacists to provide a vaccination service to patients.

Pharmacists are calling on the Minister for Health James Reilly to act on his proposal to enable pharmacists to provide a vaccination service to patients.

It was highlighted at the Irish Pharmacy Union's National Conference in Kilkenny today.

The union said that delivering immunisations, which help people fight off certain diseases such as swine flu or seasonal influenza, would offer greater choice as well as a more comprehensive and convenient service for patients.
