A petrol bomb has been thrown at a police vehicle in Co Antrim.

A petrol bomb has been thrown at a police vehicle in Co Antrim.

The device was thrown by two masked men in the Castlemara Drive area of Carrickfergus at about 2.20am today.

The PSNI said the vehicle was hit but the petrol bomb bounced off and ignited after landing on the road.

The vehicle was not damaged but officers have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
