People in Dublin, Kildare, Limerick, and Cork have most to spend


Almost a quarter of the population experienced two or more types of enforced deprivation in 2011.

Figures from the Central Statistics Office show the numbers experiencing deprivation have increased from 22.6% in 2010 to 24.5%.

The average disposable income in the state in 2011 was just over €21,000, a decline of more than 3% on the previous year.

The consistent poverty rate was 6.9%.

Figures for disposable income show people in Dublin, Kildare, Limerick, and Cork have the highest disposable incomes in the state, while Donegal and Kerry have the lowest.
