Pensioner found dead at home
14/01/2007 - 14:57:54A pensioner was found dead in a house in Sligo today.
A friend of the 65-year-old man made the grim discovery after calling at the home in the Riverside area of the town.
The man had not been seen since midday yesterday.
Gardaí said it is not clear how the man died and detectives are keeping an open mind.
The scene has been preserved and State pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy has been called out to make a preliminary examination.
A post mortem examination will be carried out later.
