PDs to stay in Govt but demand statement from Ahern
06/05/2007 - 11:00:40The PDs are calling on the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to give a comprehensive statement regarding information he has given to the planning tribunal.
In the press conference in the past few minutes, the PDs said that if the Taoiseach fails to give a comprehensive account of his financial affairs to the Irish people, it will make it impossible for him to seek the endorsement of the Dáil for a further term in office as leader of the Government.
My McDowell called for the statement to be made "before the people cast their votes on May 24".
