Pavee Point want agency to deal with Traveller accomodation

An Independent Agency should be set up to deal with the provision of accommodation for Traveller families.
That is the message from the Traveller's rights organisation Pavee Point.
It comes after it emerged earlier today that the Environment Minister Phil Hogan had made representations on behalf of constituents in May against the allocation of a house to members of the Traveller community.
The move has been described by some as racist and an abuse of power but Minister Hogan says he was only fulfilling his duty as a TD.
Martin Collins from Pavee Point says the matter highlights the need for change on how housing is allocated.
