Two men involved in the gang rape of a woman in Cork have been jailed for a total of 20 years.
The men were aged 16 and 18 when the attack happened in September 2009.
The woman, who was aged 34 at the time, had been on a night out with friends when she became separated from the group.
She was picked up by the men who drove her down a country lane and tried to have sex with her.
The victim was drunk and has no recollection of how she ended up in the back of the van.
Three men pleaded not guilty to charges in connection with the attack.
Following a trial at the Central Criminal Court two men, now aged 19 and 22, were convicted, but a third man was cleared.
The two men were sentenced today. They received 10 years each for their part in the gang rape and they will also be registered as sex offenders.
Mr Justice Paul Carney said the two men, now aged 19 and 21, had "long left their childhoods behind them" when they carried out the attack.
He said the usual mitigating factors were not available to the men, who did not plead guilty and showed no remorse for their actions.
The woman, in a victim impact statement earlier this week, said her life had been marked forever as a result of what happened to her at the hands of the two accused.
