PAC to inspect Irish Aid projects in Ethiopia

Expenditure of Irish Aid to Ethiopia is under scrutiny, it has emerged.

A delegation from the Public Accounts Committee will view a number of Irish Aid supported projects in the Tigray region, including a number of farming initiatives, a school and the Agricultural Research Institute.

The PAC is responsible for ensuring accountability and transparency in the way Government agencies allocate, spend and manage their finances.

This visit, at the request of Irish Aid, will form part of the examination of Ireland's overseas development assistance.

Members of the PAC are in Ethiopia until next Wednesday, December 4.
