Infection control measures are in place due to an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug at University Hospital Limerick.

A number of cases of Norovirus have been confirmed in the facility's psychiatric unit.

The HSE says all infection control measures are in place and the outbreak is being managed.

However no visitors will be allowed for the coming 24 hours in a bid to prevent spread of the virus.
