Operation seizes over 300k in illegal medicines

There has been a massive haul of illegal and counterfeit prescription medication in the past week.

The Irish Medicines Board has confirmed that over 100 thousand items with an estimated value of almost €300,000 have been recovered as part of a week long operation involving the IMB, Gardaí and Revenue's Customs Service which was backed up by Interpol.

Among the haul were sedatives, painkillers, weight loss products, tablets for erectile dysfunction and steroids.

The IMB is warning people who buy prescription drugs online that they are compromising their health as well as their personal and financial data.
