Opening hours extended at Ulster Bank after technical problems

Up to 60 Ulster Bank branches around the country are to open from 10am to 3pm today, to facilitate customers affected by the bank's technical problems this week.

Over 100,000 people have been affected by a systems failure, which caused delays to automatic salary and social welfare payments.

Several branches will also open tomorrow from 10am to 1pm, and a spokesperson has said the backlog in sorting out payments will be fully cleared by Monday morning.
