The 26-year-old mother of two was 15 weeks pregnant when she was pronounced clinically dead after suffering serious brain trauma earlier this month.
The case caused many people to call for the eight amendment of the constitution, which gives equal rights to the unborn child, to be repealed.
However, deputy chairperson of the pro-life campaign Cora Sherlock said: "The eighth amendment has served Ireland well (as) the last bastion of protection for the unborn child.
"There is no real support for the repeal of the eighth amendment apart from a number of hardcore pro-abortion campaigners."
