Online lotto player from Mayo wins €500k

A Mayo man is €500,000 richer thanks to the National Lottery after winning the Daily Million Plus Jackpot on Thursday 16 June.

The online player, who wishes to remain private, said he was absolutely delighted to scoop the half a million euro prize jackpot.

“I just could not believe it when I received the message to contact National Lottery Headquarters!’ he said.

He added: “It is a fantastic experience to come to Dublin and to the National Lottery offices to pick up such a big cheque. I started doing the Lottery online some time ago and it makes it a lot easier to buy and keep track of my tickets through my online account.”

Speaking about his plans for his Daily Million Plus jackpot win, the lucky Mayo man added: “€500,000 will make an incredible difference to my life and to my family.

“I have a lot of work to do in my house but I will also take good care of my family and maybe take a holiday and get a new car in the coming months,” he said.

Since the National Lottery launched its Play Online service in May 2009, online players have won a total of over €41.2m, including 19 jackpot prizes in National Lottery draw based games.
