Almost one in ten women has admitted to wearing a seatbelt under their arm to protect their fake tan.
While 7% say it is to protect their outfit.
The RSA has launched a campaign to encourage women to wear their seatbelt correctly across their body, to protect them from serious injury and death.
Brian Farrell from the Road Safety Authority has this advice.
"Using the seatbelt under the arm is the same as not wearing a seatbelt at all, you may as well not be wearing a seatbelt.
"In the event of a collision, you could suffer horrific injuries, horrific head injuries, facial injuries, neck injuries and injuries to the spine as well."
Our new seatbelt campaign asks you to avoid this season's #KillerLook by wearing your seatbelt over your shoulder & never under your arm. pic.twitter.com/qLoLWhC9Gt
