Child dies every 12 seconds says Concern at launch of new campaign
16/05/2012 - 09:14:10A child will die every 12 seconds today, according to Concern, which is launching a new campaign aimed at reducing child mortality in the developing world.
Concern's One Thousand Days campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition for babies from the time they are in the womb until their second birthday.
The charity wants the Government to use Ireland's Presidency of the EU next year to highlight the deaths of 2.7 million children a year from malnutrition-related problems.
