Household charge: Registration level now almost 890k
Almost 889,000 properties have now registered for the Household Charge.
Latest figures show that as of 4pm this afternoon around 730,000 homes had paid the €100 tax.
Some 160,000 other postal applications have still to be processed, while close to 14,000 households are seeking a waiver.
The Local Government Management Agency (LGMA) said the figures include registrations made after the March 31 deadline, to which penalties have been applied.
