Offaly Gardaí investigate child's death
Gardaí are investigating the death of a child in Co. Offaly.
The body of an 11-year-old girl was discovered at her house on Bachelors Walk in Tullamore last night.
Emergency services were called to the scene at about 9pm last night after the discovery of the girl at her home.
She was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore, where she was pronounced dead.
A woman in her 50s was also taken to the hospital.
The scene has been sealed off this morning for a Garda forensic examination.
A post mortem is due to be carried out on the girl's body later in an attempt to establish the cause of death.
Gardaí at Tullamore say they're investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the child's death.
