O'Donnell ready to fight for years for his Gorse Hill home

Brian O'Donnell says he and his family know it could be another five years until they get justice in their legal battle with Bank of Ireland.

The former solicitor and his wife finally left the Gorse Hill house in Killiney in Dublin last week, after they failed to stop a receiver taking control of the property.

He is now planning on taking his case to the European Court of Human Rights.

Mr O'Donnell also says they are keen to help others feeling pressure over their dealings with banks and has cited the example of one man he met last week.

He said: "I was walking down the street and this man came up to me and said 'I was going to shoot myself yesterday and I had a shot gun out'.

"We came on some programme, my son and I Blake, and he said 'I saw that, you're fighting, you're doing something which is helpful and is fighting back against these banks'.

"And he put the gun away."
