Obama leaves Ireland to beat ash cloud

Air Force One has left Ireland for London with President Obama and his wife Michelle on board.

They had been scheduled to overnight in Dublin before travelling to London tomorrow morning but the latest volcanic ash cloud in Iceland is disrupting British airspace, forcing them to cut short their trip here.

Earlier this evening President Obama addressed over 60 thousand people gathered in Dublin's College Green.

He told them that despite its current difficulty, Ireland will survive.

He said never had a nation so small inspired so many.
