Nurses have called off tomorrow's threatened industrial action at the Emergency Department at University Hospital Galway.

Members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation deferred the action for two weeks following talks at the Labour Relations Commission.

The INMO has said progress was made on the key issue of staffing levels – however, they are still awaiting a plan to address overcrowding at the emergency department.
