Noonan: Eurozone must remain intact
Finance Minister Michael Noonan
Finance Minister Michael Noonan has said that it is in the interests of all eurozone countries that Greece resolves its political uncertainty and sticks to its bailout deal.
Minister Noonan and his eurozone colleagues are discussing the ongoing Greek instability at talks in Brussels this evening.
Meanwhile last-ditch efforts to form an emergency coalition Government are also taking place in Athens in a bid to avoid fresh elections which could see anti-austerity parties gain even more seats in Parliament.
Analysts believe its looking increasingly likely that Greece will leave the euro, but Minister Noonan said it is important that the eurozone stays intact.
"I'd like Greece to stay in the euro," he said.
"I think it's very important that the eurozone stays intact.
"My view is that it is in all our interests that Greece would get a resolution to its democratic problems… form a government, and work the (bailout) programme."
