Noonan confirms Water Charges Relief

Michael Noonan has confirmed that all households will get a Water Charges Relief at the standard rate of 20% for all households up to a maximum of €500 per year.

The Finance Minister said the amount should be worth up to €100 a year to households.

It follows water charge protests in Dublin over the weekend, but the Government had earlier claimed that the decision on the relief had been made before the protests.
