No independent review of North-South electricity inter-connector
It has been confirmed that the North-South electricity inter-connector will not be investigated by a new independent commission.
Energy minister Pat Rabbitte has said the link between Meath and Tyrone is too far advanced to be put under new scrutiny.
The move comes despite claims from Fine Gael backbenchers that the Meath-Tyrone link would fall under the remit of the independent group announced yesterday.
